Gutenberg, by collecting and aggregating the scattered print art from his knowledge and experience, started work on making punches, matrices, modals etc. for the types in a systematic manner.
To make money, he found an alloy by mixing lead, tin and bismuth in the right proportion.
Gutenberg also made printing inks needed. Gutenberg created a printing machine called the hand press, in which two flat plates and beds were placed on the mater bed and ink was applied on it.
Printing was then done by placing the paper and pressing the plates. In this way, Gutenberg created a clear, cheap and fast working Printing Machine.
