**SOLUTION —**

Given : quadratic equation is :

$6 a^2 x^2-7 a b x-3 b^2=0$

On comparing the given equation with

$A X^2+\mathrm{BX}+\mathrm{C}=0$, we get

$\mathrm{A}=6 a^2, \mathrm{~B}=-7 a b, \mathrm{C}=-3 b^2$

Then, discriminants :

$\begin{aligned}\mathrm{D} & =\sqrt{\mathrm{B}^2-4 \mathrm{AC}} \\& =\sqrt{(-7 a b)^2-4 \times 6 a^2 \times\left(-3 b^2\right)} \\& =\sqrt{49 a^2 b^2+72 a^2 b^2} \\& =\sqrt{121 a^2 b^2}=11 a b\end{aligned}$

Then, roots of the equation, $x=\frac{-\mathrm{B} \pm \mathrm{D}}{2 \mathrm{~A}}$

$\begin{aligned}& =\frac{-(-7 a b) \pm 11 a b}{2 \times 6 a^2} \\& =\frac{18 a b}{12 a^2} \text { and } \frac{-4 a b}{12 a^2} \\& =\frac{3 b}{2 a} \text { and } \frac{-b}{3 a}\end{aligned}$

Hence, The roots of the given equation are $: \frac{3 b}{2 a}$ and $\frac{-b}{3 a}$.
