A particle initially at rest is subjected to two forces; one is constant, the other is a retarding force proportional to the particle velocity. In the subsequent motion of the particle, the acceleration :

(1) will increase then decrease

(2) will decrease than increase

(3) will decrease to zero

(4) will decrease and become constant at some non zero value.
