Current Loop as a Magnetic Dipole :

A planar closed loop carries an electric current $I$ and has area vector $\vec{A}$. Its magnetic moment, $\vec{M}=I \vec{A}$.

A current carrying coil having $N$ turns have magnetic moment $\vec{M}=N I \vec{A}$.
