How did Ismat Chughtai her childhood days?

Ans. Ismat Chugtai was the ninth child of her parents and was perhaps the youngest of all. She felt herself neglected by her mother. Her mother never gave motherly affection to her. For that very reason, she had expressed her sentiments in these words-"Amma used to hate me perhaps". Ismat spent her childhood days playing football, gilli-danda (tiping bicycles, plucking guavas and hogging them. She used to wander about the neighbourhood and generally looked for some mischief or the other. When she saw her brothers riding on horses, she insisted on doing the same. Her mother used to prevent her from doing so, but still she used to ride on the horse.
