Explain —
Plaster of Paris is calcium sulphate hemihydrate $\left({CaSO}_4 \cdot \frac{1}{2} {H}_2 {O}\right)$.
On exposure to moisture it absorbs moisture and becomes gypsum $\left({CaSO}_4, 2 {H}_2 {O}\right)$ which does not have the required setting property.
