How does the sound produced by a vibrating object in a medium reach your ear?

The vibrating object sets the particle of the medium in its contact into to-and-fro motion. This particle then transfers this disturbance to the next neighbour and the process continues.

Finally, the particle near the ear cause vibrations in the diaphragm of the listener's ear. It is in this way that the Sound Produced by a vibrating object reaches the listener's ear.
