Write the problems related to the development of canals in Bihar.

Water resources are mainly used in irrigation in Bihar. Here, at present more than 95 percent of the water resource is used for irrigation.

Bihar receives irregular and uneven rainfall. Here some crops are grown in winter. This weather remains dry.

There has been more development of canals in the plains, because here the water is supplied by flat land, soft soil, wide agriculture area and continuous flowing rivers. Most rivers of norther Bihar are continuous due to originating from the Himalayas.

Out of the last five years, due to environmental imbalance roads, there is a problem of water in the canal here.

On the other hand, the canals of the Dakshin Ganges plain rain due to their exit from the Chhotanagpur plateau.

There is no water in them throughout the year.

Therefore, there is a need for proper arrangement of water in these canals.
