Bench mark: It is a Mathematical method of displaying topographers by which the height above sea level of permanent objects such as buildings, bridges, pillars and stones is measured. That is, the mark showing the height measured from sea level on permanent objects like buildings, bridges pillars stones by actual survey is called bench mark. The altitude is indicated on the map by writing the height along with the letter BM.

The spatial elevation method is also a mathematical method of displaying topographies. The measured height of a particular place with the help of the plane mark is called the spatial height. In this method, the actual height of a place above sea level obtained by survey is revealed.

In this, the gradient of that region cannot be read. In this method, the heights of different places in the map are written in numbers by the points.
