Among the pulse crops of Bihar, gram, lentil, khesari etc. pulses included Arhar and moong kharif pulses.

In 2006-07 Rabi pulses were cultivated in Bihar for irrigating 519.9 thousand hectares of land, Kharif pulses were cultivated in area of 87.26 thousand hectares.

Patna district leads in the production of pulses in Bihar, while Aurangabad and Kaimur districts are in second and third place respectively.
