Ans. In the Indian society marriage plays a vital role in giving identity of a woman. A woman, in spite of being a better half, has no identity without marriage. An unmarried woman is not treated well in the society. She is called immoral and wanton too. A girl gets a new name; and it is the name of her husband. She has no house of her own. It's the house of her husband where she has to live in. She has to follow the rules and adapt to the requirements of her husband's family. Thus marriage is highly related to the identity of a woman.
