Ans. In the poem the speaker's tragic mood is very pronounced. Though in the poem it is sung by Amiens it appears to be the heartiest pronouncement of the poet. The poet is disappointed with the behaviour of men in society. Man in society is so cruel that he can do anything for his benefits. There is no value of relationship on account of loss and his benefit as a man can damage any kind of relationship.
