Ans. No, the poem is not like a dream. But its effect is like a dream. Children lost all consciousness, as it were, except that of the dreamy at mosphere of the past to which the stories of martha related. Martha was able to transport her bewitching mode of narration, and thus she revived her them the glories of the fairyland, which were things of the distant past. The children seemed to have been transported to that distant past and vision of the wonderful land of fairies and gnomes.
