Ans. I agree to the view that the poem depicts the plight of the housewife in general. The plight of the housewife is the same as that of the ordinary woman in this poem. A housewife has no feelings in any way. She has to do the works of the house but without expressing her opinion at any point. She has no wants and her wants are included with the family. She is devoted to her house and children. Her sensitivity suffers silently but no one is there to care for her sensitivity.
