दो सदिशों का अदिश गुणनफल (Scalar or dot Product of Two Vectors) —

$\vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}=|\vec{A}||\vec{B}|{\cos \theta=A B \cos \theta}$

(a) यदि $\theta=0^{\circ}$, तब $\cos \theta=1$

$\therefore \vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}=A B$

(b) यदि $\theta=90^{\circ}$, तब $\cos \theta=0$

$\therefore \vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}=0$

(c) यदि $\theta=180^{\circ}$, तब $\cos \theta=-1$

$\therefore \vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}=-A B$

  • $\hat{i} \cdot \hat{i}=\hat{i^2}=1, \quad \hat{j} \cdot \hat{j}=\hat{j}^2=1, \quad \hat{k} \cdot \hat{k}=\hat{k}^2=1$
  • $\hat{i} \cdot \hat{j}=\hat{j} \cdot \hat{k}=\hat{k} \cdot \hat{i}=0$
  • $\vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}=\vec{B} \cdot \vec{A}$
  • $\vec{A} \cdot(\vec{B}+\vec{C})=\vec{A} \cdot \vec{B}+\vec{A} \cdot \vec{C}$
  • $\vec{A} \cdot \vec{A}=A^2$
  • यदि $\vec{A}$ और $\vec{B}$ के बीच का कोण $\theta$ हो तो उनका परिणामी सदिश

$\vec{R}=\vec{A}+\vec{B}$ या $R^2=A^2+B^2+2 A B \cos \theta$
