Throw light on the changes taking place as a result of industrialization in India.

The new era of industrialization that started in Britain. Industrialization started early in India too. The following changes of Industrialization were visible in India.

1. Development of cities — As a result of industrialization many industries like iron, cement, coal, developed in India. Jamshedpur, Sindri, Dhanbad, Dalmiyanagar, Raniganj, Mumbai, Ahmedbad etc. developed as industrial cities.
2. Growth of Imperial Nationalism — Due to industrialization, these was a need for a large market for the consumption of raw materials and products in a big way. Both of these were available in the colonies. The completion for colonies gave rise to imperialism. The exploitation of imperialism aroused the feeling of nationalism among the oppressed in India too the British first established a colony and then established an empire. Due to the exploitation of the British, the feeling of nationalism was awakened in the Indians, as a result of which they fought for independence.
3. Class division in the society — After industrialization, three classes emerged in the society the capitalist, the bourgeoisie and the working class became the industrialist who could invest capital in the industry. The bourgeoise was the middle class. Although there were already agricultural labourers and plantation workers in tea, coffee and rubber plantations in India but after industrialization the class of factory workers emerged.
4. The beginning of slum system — As a result of industrialization factory working class started living in small houses in the city such as slum method was started. Thus industrialisation resulted in wider economic, social and political changed took place.
