SOLUTION :

Let the number be x.

∴ According to question,

 17/8x - 8/17x = 225

⇒ 289x - 64x / 136 = 225

⇒ 225x = 225 ×136

⇒ x = 225 × 136 / 225

∴ x = 136

So, The correct option (D).
