What do you understand by Rowlatt Act?

The Rowlatt act was an antic-revolution anarchic act created by a committee headed by Justice Sidney Rowaltt.

On the recommendation of the committee, the Revolution and Anarchy act was passed in the Central Legislative council on March 1, 1919.

Under this, there was a provision for the constitution of a special court.

Against whose decision no appeal could lie. Any person can be arrested at any time, anywhere without cause or warrant.

In protest against this act, a Satyagraha meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Mahatma Gandhi and arrests were made.

A national wide strike was organized on 6 April, 1919 .
