Greece has a glorious past. The achievement of Greek in the field of literary progress, thought, philosophy, art, medical science etc. were the source of inspiration for the Greeks.

In the renaissance period, the western countries started progress by taking inspiration from them, but Greece itself under the Turkey Empire.

The feeling of nationalism was especially aroused in the Greeks by the French Revolution because they had equal access on the basis of religion caste and culture.

As a result, for liberation from Turkish rule, the Greeks started the independence movement by establishing the Institution Hetairia Philike Nama.

Since Greece is synonymous with inspiration and respect for all Europeans, So his freedom struggle created sympathy all over Europe. Greece also wanted independence because of it's religious and imperialistic ambitions.

In 1821, a rebellion broke out in Greece under the leadership of Alexander Ipsilanti. Turkish rulers started suppressing Greek freedom fighters Czar Alexander of Russia personally of Greek nationality but was not vocal because of Metternich. The new Czar Nicholas openly supported the Greeks.

In April, 1826, Great Britain and Russia reached on an agreement to mediate the Turkey Greece dispute.

In 1927, a conference was held in London in which England, France and Russia together decides to take joint action Against Turkey and in support of Greece.

Only the Egyptian army came in support of Turkey. The Egyptian and Turkish forces were badly defeated in the war.

Finally in 1829, the treaty of Adrianople was signed, in which it was decided to give autonomy to Greece under the nominal sovereignty of Turkey. But the Greek nationalists wanted an independent Greece.

England and France also considered it better to make it an independent country than to have Russian influence on Greece.

Finally in 1832, by declaring Greece as an independent nation, the ruler of Bavaria became independent king of Greece.
