$20^{\circ}$ to $27^{\circ} {C}$ for sugarcane crop and hot and humid climate with temperature and 75 to $120 {cm}$ of rainfall is ideal.

This crop cannot tolerate frost. It requires a low temperature when ripening.

It can be grown in different soils like black, alluvial, loam and red loam.

The best soils are the alluvial soils of Ganges plain and black soil of South India. It requires an irrigated area with plenty of sunlight to grew.

Road and Rail transport is required to transport sugarcane to the sugar mills.

South India has more transportation facilities than North India. More favourable conditions are available for sugarcane cultivation in South India than in North India.

Hence the yield of Sugarcane is better here.
