How does coalition politics affect democracy?

Coalition politics has two aspects-Pre-election or post election alliance, second permanent coalition temporary, opportunistic alliance. Coalition can be formed on the basis of principled equality. But these are political alliances without ideological equality as well. Such an alliance occurs out of the desire to form a government or to capture power. In the absence of a majority, a political alliance has to be formed. Under the coalition, political agreements have to be made with the regional parties, as a result, the political parties involved in the alliance start taking care of their personal interests and benefits. This loosens the grip of the government on the administration. Eventually, the government falls and becomes infamous.
