As a result of Industrial Revolution there were three class in the society.
- Business class (Capitalist class)
- Middle class
- Working class.
These three classes had their role in the process of urbanisation.
- Business Class : It was the capitalist class urbanization is encouraged by the establishment of factories. Size and population of cities factories established by them obviously their role in the process of urbanization was important.
- Middle Class : It was the educated or intelligent a class and it had various forms. For example, scientist, teacher, engineer clerk, lawyer, doctor accountant etc. From the management of the factories to the management of the city, the work was in the hands of this class. The administration of the city education, health etc. were also in their hands.
- Working Class : Landless in view of better employment opportunities in the cities the agriculture classes migrated to the cities in large numbers. They constitute the largest part of the population in cities.
